Wendy Question #9

Dear Joshua,

So I have been reading and re-reading your answers ~ I have been reading the books ~ listening to Abraham and listening to the podcast. I thought I was doing pretty well with my beliefs and looking at everything as good and right and eliminating resistance as much as I can. However, the past week I have been woken up around 2:00-3:00 in the morning with a migraine. When I asked you about the migraines before you said when I sleep there is no resistance. Why then if I am sleeping do I get woken with the pain? Am I resisting while I sleep? What can I do before I go to bed to release resistance?

I realize the migraine is a gift and I want to understand what message it is bringing. I've heard this message before ~ I thought I had worked on this ~ obviously I need more work. I have been catching myself when I have a negative emotion and reach for a better feeling thought as quickly as possible. Any ideas?

With Love and Gratitude
~ Wendy

Dear Wendy,

All unwanted physical conditions stem from resistance. Without resistance, your body would function normally, because it would not need to communicate with you. When you encounter chronic unwanted physical conditions, it is due to some resistance which is also chronic. If the condition appears over and over again, it is communicating that you are resisting the same thing over and over again.

We will say here that it is not necessary for you to identify the thing that is causing all this resistance. It is better for you to adopt an attitude of general nonresistance and the chronic reminders of your resistance will fade away since they are no longer necessary. You are doing what the body is asking. You are embarking on a path that will radically alter the trajectory of your life. You are moving away from fear and towards love. You are learning to become less resistant. It is a process and you are just at the beginning. You have walked a few steps and soon you will be well on your way.

There is no resistance when you sleep. Your migraine did not wake you. It came the moment you woke in response to the first thoughts you were thinking. There is a lot of momentum. You are like a great ship at sea. You cannot reverse course while plunging full steam ahead. You must slow the ship and make little course corrections. That's what you're doing now. You are making small changes. You are gradually raising your vibration. You are slowly starting to see life from a higher perspective.

There is nothing to fix. Your physical conditions were created by a long and consistent focus of attention on unwanted subjects. Your approach to life was one of fighting against what is. You are in the process of adopting a radically new approach to life. You are going from fighting to allowing. From struggle to ease. From fear to love. You have no problems, simply side effects of your old approach to life. Once you have consistently turned your attention to ease, well-being, and allowing, giving up your resistance, those unwanted side effects will fade away. They will not be needed any longer.

The migraine is a side effect. It is a symptom of struggle. It is the residue of fear. You are going to learn to be fearless. When you replace fear with confidence, a migraine will be as out of place as a polar bear in the jungle.

Joshua
