Wendy Question #57

Dear Joshua,

I have been feeling very unsettled. It started last weekend. It subsided a bit, but it's resurfacing.

I am doing my best to just "be" with it ~ lean into it. Is there something here I am missing?

With Love and Gratitude
~ Wendy

Dear Wendy,

An unsettled feeling is a negative emotion caused (as are all negative emotions), by fear. The fear is irrational, whatever it may be, because it cannot do you physical harm. Therefore, it is false. So, what are you fearing that has caused this negative emotion? Before you can prove the fear false, you must identify the fear and/or the limiting belief.

There is no reason to "be" with a negative emotion. Being with a negative emotion causes a shift in momentum. The longer you stay with the negative emotion, the bigger it becomes and the more the momentum builds. The idea here is to analyze the feeling by finding the limiting belief that is based in fear. If you don't want to do that, you may also relieve the emotion by looking at the subject from a higher perspective. You must soothe yourself and find a way to feel better. this is the way to reverse the momentum and move back on track toward that which you want.

Uneasy or unsettling feelings are vague, but they do not need to linger. They are indicators that your general attention is focused on what you perceive to be a problem. However, no matter how long you linger on the problem, the solution cannot come because it resides at a different vibrational place. That's why you must work to raise your vibration on your own.

The is no reason to fully immerse yourself in a negative emotion. There is good reason to immerse yourself in a positive emotion. Both are for the same reason. The emotion causes momentum to build. Negative emotion builds negative momentum and positive emotion creates positive momentum. Your work is to realize the negative emotion is an indicator that your focus of attention is off-track and therefore it is time to get back on track. That's all the feeling is there for. It's alerting you to your current point of focus.

So then, do your work. Identify the fear. Write your thoughts about any limiting beliefs that may have led to the unsettling feeling. Let's identify them and prove they are false. Write a list of possible fears and limiting beliefs and why each fear is false. Send this list to us with your next question and we will look at it together.

We are by your side at every moment in time,
Joshua
