Wendy Question #27

Dear Joshua,

As I go through my day ~ focusing on being in the moment ~ I often feel as though I am wandering around aimlessly with no direction. I am focusing on letting go, stop resisting, and being in the moment and seeing it as perfect. Yet, I still get this feeling of wandering and that makes me resistant again! I do my best not to focus on physical pain in my body, but, the "wandering" almost amplifies it.

Does this make any sense?

With Love and Gratitude
~ Wendy

Dear Wendy,

Do you see something wrong with wandering? Do you think you should be doing instead of wandering? It is not that the wandering is wrong, it's that your perspective that it is wrong is resistant. If you want to stop resisting, then you cannot see anything as wrong. You must see that wandering around aimlessly is perfect, because that's what it is.

Right now you are in a state of transition. You are in the process of moving your vibration from one point to another. Where your vibration (and your life) will be in a few months is very different than where it is now. You do not want to have anything to do. By not having something important to do, you get the luxury of time. You have time to write questions, read and reread answers, meditate, journal, write lists of things you appreciate, do whatever you find enjoyable in the moment, and practice feeling good. That's all you have to do. When your vibration rises just a little bit, and you have practiced feeling as good as you can, you will receive inspiration to do something.

The inspiration will be clear, but you will have fear around it. In these weeks we have together, you will learn how to deal with irrational fear and you will start to push through your fears and actually do what you are inspired to do. You would be doing this now, if you could just get past all the little and irrational fears that plague you when you attempt to do something new. This is what you are learning as you interact with us.

Now, when you wander around aimlessly with nothing to do, is that really true? Are you certain there's nothing you want to do? Are you receiving absolutely no ideas? Of course you are receiving ideas of what to do. There are many thing you could be doing.

What happens when you receive an idea to do something? You find reasons not to do it. The reasons are attracted by fear. They are not real. They are illusions. You can do whatever you want to do. It's just that the fear (which is very low in intensity so it doesn't even feel like fear) is stronger than your desires, which are quite weak.

Your fears are stronger than your desires and so when you receive an idea to do something, you don't do it because the desire is weak and the fear is a bit stronger. To you this feels normal, but it is not. When you receive a thought to do something interesting or fun, it is inspiration. You must act on it. You must push through the fear and do it anyway. Once you've made the decision to do something, you must push through the fear, do the thing you want to do, and most importantly, release your attachment to any specific outcome.

Do you know what your fear is really about? It's the fear of negative emotion. You have an idea to do something and you feel fear. The fear is that the result of the action will bring negative emotion and so you rather not do it. You think you might feel embarrassed if something goes wrong or disappointed if it doesn't go the way you want it to go. Forget about all that. Negative emotion is just your guidance system at work. It alerts you when you are looking at the subject from a limited perspective. When you feel negative emotion, all you have to do is change your perspective and you'll feel better.

We would like you to notice when you receive inspiration to do something fun or interesting, no matter what it is. You might be inspired to take a nap. Very good idea. You might be inspired to read a book. Excellent. You might be inspired to call a friend, watch a movie, pet a dog, go for a walk, listen to some music, re-read an answer, listen to Abraham, or something else. These inspirations come all day long. Do not discount them. They are meaningful.

By the end of our time together you will understand that these little thoughts that pop into your head are guidance and inspiration. You will start acting when inspired in the moment and you will not give into any thoughts that try to get you to avoid taking the action. These actions will lead you to other interests and eventually to your passion. You will emerge from this. You will push through fear. The version of you that will exist in just a short time will be unrecognizable from the version of you that exists now. You will think differently. You will feel differently about negative emotion and you will not give into fear. You will be living a life you intended to live prior to your birth.

With love and appreciation.

We are Joshua
