Wendy Question #23

Dear Joshua,

I have no sense of smell. When I was in high school, I used a lot of nose spray and so I have always thought that I "damaged" my smeller. However, I do not remember ever really smelling before. I've always just accepted this. Occasionally, with a very strong smell ~ like lemon juice ~ I may get a small sense of the smell.

Now that I am following your teachings ~ I'm wondering ~ I'm I not in alignment with smelling? If so, what limiting beliefs are causing me to be a vibrational match to the lack of smell?

With Love and Gratitude
~ Wendy

Dear Wendy,

You chose the time and place of your birth, your parents, and your body, complete with all its unique aspects and qualities. If you did not have smell as a child, this aspect was part of the unique bundle of features you chose. You can now choose to look at your sense of smell from the higher or lower perspective. Since you chose the exact sense of smell you have, are you really lacking anything?

You could view this subject in an empowering way; "I do not have to smell all the obnoxious aromas in the world. What a wonderful thing!" Or you could look at it from a lower perspective; "I do not get to smell all the wonderful aromas in the world. How sad!" By the way, this is true of everything. You can look at anything from the higher perspective and see it as a good thing or you can choose to adopt the lower perspective and find a way to see it as a bad thing. Remember; this is always your individual choice.

When you look at something from the lower perspective, you are calling it wrong and finding a way to argue with what is. From this stance, you focus on what is not wanted and your future unfolds in a way that is in harmony with how you are choosing to look at the subject. It is not empowering. It does not bring you closer to where you want to go. You do not manifest what is wanted by looking at something and consciously or unconsciously finding fault with it.

On the flip side, when you consciously choose to look at the positive aspects of the subject, you are engaging the forces of the universe to bring you what you want. You are choosing an empowering perspective rather than a limiting one. You are bringing the focus of your attention on something that is positive about something that could be seen as negative. You know there is no positive or negative; it's only your perception that determines if it is positive or negative for you. You get to choose.

So then, how would you rephrase your question? Rewrite your question as if you thought that having no sense of smell was a good thing. Practice this now and send it back to us. This is how you change your approach to life and create the life you truly desire.

With our love,
We are Joshua.
