Steve Question #62

Dear Joshua,

I have been having a lot of conflict with my boss in the side business that we are trying to get off the ground. The gist of most of the conflict seems to center around him wanting me to do more than I feel I should or want to do. Ultimately, this has me questioning if this is the path I should be pursuing or if it's time to pursue something else. Quitting does seem like relief at this point. And the journey is not fun for me. OR - is the universe trying to change me through the conflict I am having with my boss and I should be working through this?

Thanks!
Steve

Dear Steve,

You birthed a desire, you're boss birthed a desire, and your colleagues birthed their desires. The universe is answering all of your desires and thus you find yourselves in this new venture together. How was it all created? It was created through the manifestation of your desires into physical reality. Is it turning out to be just as you thought it would be? No, you are all resisting it. You are all trying to turn it into the mental picture you all carry in your mind. It doesn't look or feel like what you thought it would be so you are all coercing the conditions to create your version of this desire. You are simply being impatient. In doing so, you hold yourself apart from the most elegant manifestation of what you truly want.

So, how do you simply and easily go with the flow? You stop paddling upstream. You drop your oar and you let the current take you where you need to go in order for the universe to create the physical representation of all that you desire in the most elegant way possible. Just stop your resistance.

The universe is molding you into the version of you which will recognize and be ready for the manifestation of your desire when it arrives. Until then, there's work that needs to be done. There are beliefs that must be modified. There is the current version of you that must transform into the expanded version of you. All you need to do is reduce the amount of resistance to the change that is inevitable. Or you could quit. Those are your choices. Resist, go with the flow, or quit. Which option do you want?

Your boss and colleagues are resisting as well, but you have no control over them. They do not matter. Isn't that interesting? You do not need them to go with the flow. This is your manifestation. They are here for you. This manifestation revolves around you. They will fall in line when you do. Things will begin to work out as soon as you stop resisting. They will turn themselves around and follow your example. It will be quite magical.

So what are you resisting? You think you know what you should and should not be doing. You think you know what your job entails and you do not think others should tell you how to operate within your area of expertise. You believe they are being irrational and if they knew what you know, they would see it differently. You are trying to make them see your side of things, but you are the one who is not looking at the situation from their perspective. You must be the one who changes to work with them, not the other way around.

Imagine for a moment that your boss is right. Imagine that you decide that you will do everything he asks. What are the ramifications of this? It will mean you will have to find a way to do a job that is far different than you thought. It means that you will have to step out of your comfort zone. It means that you will need to find help. It means that you will have to sacrifice some time away from other things you think you would enjoy more. It means you have to find a way to make doing all of this enjoyable. It means you will have to focus on a whole new approach to this endeavor. It means you will have to rise to the occasion.

You are far more powerful than you think you are. You have nothing to fear, especially in this new business where you are not tethered and can leave at anytime. But this business offers all that you really want. This business could be something that will bring you what you truly desire. You have the opportunity to evolve your skills in this business. It is really a wonderful thing. You have no pressure. Change your attitude so that you see the potential and it will become a very fun challenge. Once you stop resisting, you'll see that.

Go to the one you call your boss (he is not actually your boss, you are), and have another meeting. This time ask him in great detail everything he wants you to do. Do not question it, do not try to change or modify his request, do not worry about the time, expense, or effort you'll have to commit in order to comply with his request. Just write it down, understand the goal, and lean into it with all your might. In completing this endeavor, you'll come out the other side a changed man. You will have accomplished something that was not going to happen had you continued to resist and you will be expanded by this. Understand that this is the work of the universe and you are lining up with universal forces. Everyone else would resist it just as you have, but you know more now and you can see that the path to what you want is right through this specific challenge.

The key is to go with the flow of it in joyful confidence. You must remind yourself that you cannot see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but it's there. You must have faith that whatever the outcome, it's part of the process of change that is needed to bring you to that place you so desire to go. You created the desire and even though it may not feel right, it is always right. It is law and cannot be any other way.

Go with the flow. Everything is right. Everything is always working out for you if you just let it be.

Loved
Joshua
