Kyla Question #64

Joshua,

Historically, I have not been a morning person. It takes me a while to get into the groove of my day. I realize this could probably be turned around by starting the day off with a meditation (instead of waiting til the end of the day), but my kids are my alarm clock and they "go off" bright and early, usually right around 6am.

I've had several instances of wishful thinking, where I intended to get up at 5am for some quiet time and meditation, but it has yet to actually happen. I've also had instances of wishful thinking, where I hoped they would start sleeping later, but that's also been in vain.

But...last night, after starting to wish they'd sleep later, then remembering that I can't create in anyone else's reality, I instead thought "I'd really love to sleep until 8am."

This morning, I heard my youngest crying at 5:30am. I went in and soothed him, then put him back in bed, half-expecting him to resist and be ready to start the day. But he went back down easily, and I went back to bed. The next time I woke up (when my oldest got up to use the restroom), I looked at the clock and it was 7:58. We laid in bed until 9am. It was glorious.

I would love for this to become a regular thing (them sleeping until 8am). The idea of getting up at 7am to meditate feels much more within reach than rising at 5am. But then again, who knows? Maybe if they start sleeping until 8am, I'll just continue my habit of staying in bed until they drag me out.

What are your thoughts? Will I forever be a night owl? What can I do to allow the Universe to shape me into the type of person that leaps out of bed, bright and early, ready to get a jump start on the day?

With love,
Kyla

Dear Kyla,

This is not a question about sleep, but rather a question about alignment, altering the conditions, and engaging universal forces. In the past you wished you could sleep later. In order to have the wish fulfilled you asked that your children be different than they are. You want to change the conditions rather than simply getting yourself into alignment first and then asking for what you want rather than asking for the conditions to be different. This is the manifestation process in a nutshell.

Most humans go about wishing for something, noticing that the conditions that exist are devoid of this thing they want, and rather than changing themselves to become a vibrational match to what they want, they choose to actively fight against the conditions that exist. It's just an approach that yields paltry results.

Instead of finding a way to make your kids sleep longer, ask for what you want without the attachment to the how and just see what happens. We're not saying that this will work every single time (for there is a lot going on behind the scenes), but we believe that this approach will work so much better for you. Not just in this case, but in every case.

Think about detaching yourself from the results and appreciating when little things like this when they happen. You manifested this desire. You lined up with it by using an approach that leverages universal forces. And you noticed that the desire you asked for actually manifested in your reality. That's all you need to do and we see this as a wonderful step in the right direction.

With Love,
Joshua
