Kyla Question #17

Joshua,

I got a speeding ticket today. I've been less concerned with watching my speed lately because I was so certain I wasn't a vibrational match to a ticket. Turns out I was wrong.

When I got pulled over, I remembered your answer to Steve about speeding tickets, so I kept my mind and heart open. I realized this cop was a match to me in the moment, so I thought maybe we'd have an interesting interaction or something. Instead, it was very business-like, and he wrote me a ticket for speeding in a construction zone.

Maybe I attracted this ticket because I was kind of in a funk today. I didn't get as much sleep as I would've preferred, and I let it affect my ability to manage my emotions. I pulled the car over on the highway and waited until my son agreed to hand over his boomerang because he was swinging it around and hitting his brother with it. I see now how that may have been me coercing someone else and/or the conditions to be a certain way in order for me to feel okay.

I did stay fairly calm, didn't yell or snatch it away, but I refused to move the car until the boomerang was up front with me. At one point part of me even hoped that a cop would stop and talk some sense into him. So was this the Universe picking up on that signal (my desire for a cop to pull over) and granting me my wish?

Or maybe it has to do with my relationship with abundance? My first thought was "Shit, I can't afford a ticket." That's what popped into my head, even though it's not really true. I can afford it, but I'd definitely prefer to spend my money in other ways. I've been building my trust muscle, especially after that last incident where I temporarily felt I might be "losing" out on some money. I've felt like I had a pretty good flow going with the Universe the past few days but perhaps there are some kinks that I'm not aware of.Or maybe this is just part of that process?

What are your thoughts? Was it either, or both, or none of the above that resulted in this ticket that I was so sure wouldn't happen?

With love,
Kyla

Dear Kyla,

When something appears in your reality that seems to be unwanted, there are several ways to look at it. It could be a manifestation in and of itself which is responding to your vibration. It could be something that is part of a larger manifestation that is to come in the future. It could be a manifestation event which carries with it a message and the opportunity for you to release some limiting belief. Or it could be a combination of the three.

Let's look at each one. The speeding ticket might have been a response to your vibration and to the wish you made to have a cop pull you over so he could talk to your son. It could have come in response to your mood and the feeling of receiving the ticket matched how you were feeling in the moment. If this was the case (we don't think it is) then it reaffirms that the universe responds to your vibration and isn't that a very good thing? Now all you have to do is monitor your vibration in every moment of every day of the rest of your life. That's not quite possible, is it?

Maybe the speeding ticket is part of a larger manifestation of something you want. Possibly, the ticket kept you from being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Things like this happen all the time without your awareness. When you get caught behind a slow truck and you find yourself running late, or when you stop at a red light, or when you come across a school crossing and the kids take forever to get across the street. Things like this adjust your timing so that you either rendezvous with something good or avoid something unwanted.

Maybe the ticket will lead to something bigger. What if you go to driving school and meet someone? What if you hire a lawyer and meet someone? What if the ticket causes you to research something on the internet and you discover something? The ticket might move you in a direction of discovery. You might look back on this and say, "You know, if it wasn't for that ticket, this could never have happened. Thank God I got that ticket."

Maybe this was a manifestation event. Did you feel negative emotion as it was happening? Yes? Then certainly it was a manifestation event. There is a limiting belief in there that caused you to feel negative emotion. Was the emotion mild or severe? That indicates the relative intensity of the limiting belief. If the emotion was milder for you now than it would have been in the past, then the limiting belief has already been diminished in intensity. Analyze the limiting belief again (hint: money) and reduce its intensity even further.

This could have been one, two or all three possibilities all playing out as required by the Law of Attraction. It works perfectly, every time. All you have to do is look for the meaning of it all and adjust your perspective accordingly. We see you are doing just that. Wonderful job indeed!

Joshua
