Kate Question #27

Dear Joshua,

I appreciated your answers concerning my work. Most of my focus and time is spent there – all else is going well and you are right, I have much appreciation for many other aspects of my life which are blessings.

What I read was that you see (or "trust", or "believe" although those may be my own human words) is that I might actually be in the right work place contrary to my feelings of insecurity and fear around it, which helps me to trust that maybe I am, and maybe I can work on improving my perspective and therefore the results. I know you are not trying to influence, but I really needed to read that because my insecurity makes me doubt enormously at times (and then occasionally I'll have a "yes" moment).

You say that my fear is that if I don't serve, I will lose my employment, and you are right. But you go on to say that if that were the case, its fine, and if its not the case, its fine. Thank you. You say that there will be a big shift coming up – ideally, my first thought is that I would like it to be within my work, because I do for the most part enjoy it and I've tried other things which I really didn't. So I am going to work on perspective, and "try and be bold and brave and focus my energies on what makes me happy". I have started listening to affirmations, hypnotism sessions in my free time, to relax and put more positive messages into my mind. I am thinking of turning your words into affirmations – to remind myself that someone high up believes in me.

Do affirmations and hypnotism help?

Kate

Dear Kate,

Affirmations work to the extent you believe in the meaning of the words. As with anything, there is a side that you notice that is just not there. If you affirm that you are worthy and unique, then you might strongly believe those words because they are absolutely true and you know this. However, if you were to say "I am Rich, I am Famous, I am all knowing and all powerful, I can do anything I set my mind to," and other such things, you might not fully believe it yet.

What we would tell you to do is read and re-read our answers to your questions. Read them from the beginning. Use a marker an highlight the passages you believe with a yellow marker, the ones you kind of believe with a green marker, and the ones you don't quite believe with a red marker. You will notice that you believe most of what we have said because everything we've said is absolutely true. Since you already believe these statements, they will make excellent affirmations.

Joshua
