Kate Question #102

Dear Joshua,

I diligently wrote out the appreciation lists, and typed them out last night (I like homework J).

I noted a couple of things ….

1) I have a lot I'm appreciative of when I actually sit down and focus.

2) It was easy to come up with things I appreciate about my home and where I live and I could keep going, and I felt my energy shift and lift. The health, abundance and relationships were all easy to write down, but I didn't feel quite the same lift (but then maybe I was already there in terms of focus and lifted energy).

3) I was thinking last night it would be a good idea to do a list of 25 things I appreciated in my day, every day – because there is always something (200 things) which would keep me on this path of paying attention and acknowledging (and 25 things isn't too time consuming that I would stop after 8 days).

Dear Kate,

It is wonderful for us to see that you felt a shift in your vibration as you wrote your lists of appreciation. The shift in energy is tangible, isn't it? You feel differently after having accomplished this task. You can sense more ease and well-being. As you feel the rising of your vibration, you can also know that you life has and will change as a result of this endeavor.

It is interesting to see how just a little focus can have such a big impact. You feel the lift and you might think, "that's nice." But there is far more to it than that. This exercise has reduced the intensity of limiting beliefs, raised the intensity of beneficial beliefs and has also shifted your perspective to a higher level. The impact of all this will be a noticeable change in your outer world. You life has just improved.

What you have done here is focused your attention on what you do like and for a moment you have removed your attention from what you don't like. What you don't like are your problems, but you can't seem to think of anything else. Minimize the resistance associated with your problems by focusing on that which you appreciate.

There is less resistance around your home and this was the easiest for you to find things to appreciate. In this area you are quite non-resistant. It is true that you felt a greater lift when writing about your home because you did it first. You noticed the shift and it was more obvious. You went from your baseline state of being to an elevated emotional state. As you began to write about the other areas in your life, you were already elevated and the shift was less noticeable. But, since it's easier to appreciate your home, you noticed some resistance around the other areas. This just means you need a little more practice.

Before you get into writing daily lists of appreciation, let's take a look at what you have already written. Please send us your four lists of 25 things you appreciate in each subject and together we will review each one to see if we can find some resistance. Then we will work to ease that out of your list.

Joshua
