Arnaud Question #42

Hi Joshua,

Fortunately, the heavy mood I was feeling at the start of the week has lifted fairly quickly and I have been feeling pretty amazing for the past few days. The kind of feeling good that is like a radiating energy around my body, just by being. I love being in that state. It really does feel like I carry an aura around me, and I have had all sorts of positive manifestation events that validated this state of being.

I did what you told me on the Joshua Live Call on Monday to set clear intentions at the start of the day. I did, however, have a question come up regarding the relation between observing the conditions, focus, and allowing.

Can you be simultaneously allowing by accepting the conditions as they are and focusing on conditions that you prefer?

Could I be at party where the only drink being served is lemonade, and as I sip it, think it's the best lemonade I've ever tasted, enjoy its sweet subtle flavours, and yet, at the same time, know that I would prefer champagne. Is there any resistance in that?

With love,
Arnaud

Dear Arnaud,

The resistance comes by wishing the conditions were different than they are. It is the belief that you control your conditions rather than your feelings. If you controlled your conditions, you might presume that it is wrong for there not to be champagne. However, the fact that there is no champagne in your reality at this party is part of the perfect design of the system. Had you been a match to champagne, or more importantly, had the champagne been part of the experience that is this party, then it would be there. Since it is not there, it is not needed, not necessary and not part of the perfection that is. What is is perfect, always. It is law. What is missing can only be seen as missing from a limited perspective. From the higher perspective, everything is right.

Here's your choice: you get to see everything as right as it is or you can determine for yourself that some things are right and others are wrong. However, if you choose to believe that some things are wrong in the moment, you do so based in fear. It is the fear that you are not the creator of your reality, but instead the victim of fate. The old approach to life maintains that humans are victims of fate and that in order to be safe (mostly safe from negative emotion) one must control their conditions as best they can. The new approach to life says that you are the creator of your reality and you create that reality based on how you feel.

You have come to this reality to explore and in doing so you have defined some preferences. That is all very good. There are things you want. That is very good too. How do you get what you want? You maintain a state of allowing. What does this mean exactly? It means that in order to receive all that you truly want, you must give over the control of the conditions to the universe. You create the life you prefer by not resisting what is and in fact, by appreciating it as it is. Imagine that. You see the perfection in the conditions even though you prefer something different. That seems counter-intuitive. Wouldn't it be better to complain about what is so that the universe will know what you do not like? Again, that is the old approach to life and since you live in an attractive universe, the approach of control (or pushing against) cannot work. It simply reinforces what you do not like.

If you were to appreciate the lemonade while it is in your reality, what do you gain? You gain a completely different state of mind. It is one of appreciation for the lemonade rather than longing for the champagne. Which state of mind do you think would feel better? The appreciation feels better than the longing or regret or remorse, or the belief that you could have done something to make a more preferable outcome, but did not. Do you see that? In the moment the fact is that you have lemonade and not champagne. It is what it is and it happens to be perfect. You might not see that immediately, but in realizing that what is is perfect, you stop the thoughts of what could have been, which do not feel as good as appreciation for what is. Appreciation feels good. Noticing what's missing or what's wrong does not feel good.

In all things relating to nonresistance, feeling good is the key. Feeling better is your work. Demanding to feel good is the art of allowing and in this state you become receptive to inspiration that will lead you to everything you truly want. In a state where you notice what is missing, you do so in fear. You might not think that it is fear to wish that Champagne was there rather than lemonade, but it is fear nonetheless. In this lower emotional state of longing for what is not present, you disconnect yourself from the inspiration that will lead you to everything you actually want.

With our love,
We are Joshua
