Arnaud Question #38

Hi Joshua,

I hope that, like me, you had a great Christmas. On Saturday, just two days after I arrived back home in France, I found myself almost completely stuck with sciatica. Probably the inflammation of the back pain that I was starting to feel a couple of days prior. As you highlighted in your last answer, I took it to mean that I needed to slow down. My mum and I had planned on going shopping but I stayed at home instead, reading, relaxing and doing a couple of meditations. Amazingly, the pain was almost completely gone the next day and didn't bother me at all throughout Christmas.

I was wondering whether Christmas marked a specific change spiritually, like a shift to a new dimension for instance. I have noticed that I have almost always ended up with some form of ailment at Christmas. 6 years ago, that's when I had my inner ear infection that led me to discover Abraham for instance. I'm usually pretty healthy the rest of the year!

Of course, it could also be resistance from managing the levels of energy that comes with being back at the childhood home and surrounded by family members who tend to antagonise one another with their fears. Maintaining alignment is hard work sometimes being in the middle of this. My mum, for instance, is constantly trying to control the conditions, which, of course is not always going well. This year, I have refrained from trying to show her a different path and perspective, because, in noticing it, that implies that I see her as wrong and therefore I am not in alignment.

I love Christmas because there is a lot of love going round. I love finding and giving presents to people. But there are also a lot of fears and controlling going round when close family members get together. I've had extra helpings of meditation and whisky, but what's the best way to stay in alignment at such periods?

With love,
Arnaud

Dear Arnaud,

Imagine that the pain was literal. What would that indicate? Maybe you feel some pain going back. Back pain. Who knows? Resistance certainly. What is the resistance? We would like you to think about it and let us know what you come up with.

When you receive obvious signs of resistance in the form of unwanted physical conditions, what do you normally do? Do you call the pain wrong? Do you wish it away? Do you forget about it once it goes away? The pain comes for a reason. Certainly, if it is uncomfortable to move your body, then the pain might be a reminder to slow down. But if the pain comes from the same resistance over and over, why not take a bit of time to identify the source of the resistance?

Why is it painful to be back at home? Do you feel like you are going backwards? Do you feel like you are reverting back to a previous version of you? Are you trying to hide the new version of you from your family? Do you worry that they will not love this new version? The pain is no coincidence. It has meaning. If you can determine its meaning for yourself, you can uncover the underlying limiting belief that is right now holding you back from moving to the next level. Until you resolve this limiting belief, you will face more manifestation events and unwanted physical conditions.

Let us know what you have come up with and we will look at it together.

With our love,
We are Joshua
