Arnaud Question #17

Hi Joshua,

A random question has just popped in my head as I am eating a pizza in a restaurant: is our higher self gender neutral, and do we choose our sexuality before we come into physical, like we choose our bodies?

With love,
Arnaud

Dear Arnaud,

There is no such thing as gender in the nonphysical realm. Like everything else, you set intentions prior to your birth. You choose the time and place of your birth, your parents, and your body. Your body is comprised of many specific aspects that allow you to explore reality as you intended. Things like the size and shape of your body play an important role in your exploration of life and you choose it all. Think about the color of your skin and how a different skin color might have set you off in a completely different trajectory. The trajectory you are on now was intended by you prior to your birth. Every aspect of your childhood, including every aspect of your body helps you explore reality as you intended. Your gender and sexual preference were chosen by you prior to your birth so that you could explore reality as you are exploring it now.

Imagine if you had a different gender or sexual preference. Your life would be completely different than it is. It would not have allowed you to explore reality as you are exploring it now, would it? You would be interested in different things and have a completely different perception of reality. This is also true if any other aspect of your body was different. If you were an inch taller or shorter than you are now, just an inch, that difference would radically shift the way you perceive reality. It would completely change your trajectory. Your entire life would be different.

So then, if your gender and sexuality were chosen by you and now you find yourself on this trajectory, how do you think those choices play into your specific exploration of reality? You intended to experience joy, to express your love, to feel freedom and abundance, and many other general things. You can feel these things regardless of your gender or sexual orientation. It doesn't't matter if you are man, woman, straight, gay, or anything else. You can still express your love and experience joy, freedom, abundance, etc. But when it comes to the more specific aspects of physical reality, your gender and sexual preference are required in that exploration. How are the choices made prior to your birth affecting the way you explore the more specific aspects of physical reality? How are the other unique parts of you involved in your more specific exploration? How do these things affect and influence your personality, for instance? How do they affect what interests you? It is interesting to think about isn't it? What conclusions are you coming to?

With our love,
We are Joshua
