Dear Joshua,

I'm still confused about thoughts. If I keep replaying thoughts on a particular subject, think them over and over like a recording, bring them to mind often... I don't want the thoughts. I thought I'd put them away. I figured out what a solution was or what I wanted to say to someone but I keep repeating.

Or, I'm just repeating them because it's a habit (like a complaint about the mate).

I don't understand.

Dear Allyson,

Let's think about thoughts. What is a thought? It is a nonphysical packet of energy. Why do thoughts exist? So that you may express yourself? If you are to express yourself, how would you do it without thoughts? With words? With actions? No, the thought must come before the word and before the action. The word and the action are the physical expression of the thought. How do you receive thoughts in the first place? You become a vibrational match to the thought. If you are receiving discouraging or limiting, fearbased thoughts, what does that tell you about the vibration you are emitting? If you are receiving inspiring and empowering thoughts, what does that tell you about your approach to life?

You have control over the thoughts you think. That implies that you have control over your vibration. If you receive certain thoughts because you are a vibrational match to them, that must mean that you can control your vibration. Let's test this out. Think of a monkey. Now think of a house on fire. These are two very different thoughts and you were able to easily attract them. How did you do that? You altered your vibration. You can alter your vibration consciously to attract the quality of thoughts you prefer. All you have to do is get a little better and controlling the barrage of thoughts and the quality of thoughts that come to you. You must get a bit better at maintaining the vibration you prefer. Your thoughts are feedback. They are letting you know how you are feeling and what you are emitting through your vibration. Thinking better feeling thoughts means shifting to a better-feeling vibration. You can get better at maintaining a preferred vibration through the practice of meditation.

If you find yourself receiving the same thoughts over and over again, that might mean that you were unable to express yourself as you would have liked. You might have preferred to express yourself differently than you did. You believe that you might have lost an opportunity to express yourself in a more impactful way, but time has passed and you believe that you have made an error in your expression. So you might think about that moment over and over again. The important thing to remember is that other opportunities will arise. Don't worry about past events for they no longer mean anything unless you are attached to them. Give up your attachment to anything that may have happened in the past and focus on how you would like to express yourself now, how you perceive yourself now, and what you would like to think about right now in this moment. The moment is the only thing that matters. Your power of expression is in the moment. Simply by thinking the thoughts you wish to think is all the expression you will ever need.

Pay more attention to the thoughts you are thinking in the moment and you will consciously create the reality you want because by dong that, you are maintaining a vibration of that which is wanted. Release all unwanted thoughts and focus on the fullest expression of who you are in the moment. Nothing in the past has any relevance to who you are right now in this moment, even if you believe it does. That is simply an illusion. You are a completely different version of you now. You are expanded now. You were different then. You know more now. Your perspective is higher now. Use the now to express yourself in the most empowering way you can and demand to receive goodfeeling thoughts.
