Steve Question #71

Dear Joshua,

Yesterday I was meeting a friend for lunch and when I left work, I caught the freeway going the "wrong" (I quote because I know there is no wrong in the universe) direction. I was already slightly behind schedule as far as our meeting time and this "mistake" tacked on at least another 5-8 minutes to my commute time. This was really out of the ordinary for me, I'm normally really good with directions, pride myself on being efficient and don't make these kinds of mistakes, especially when I'm already running late! Initially I was upset with myself but then I thought maybe this happened for a reason. Could it be possible that my inner self wanted me to go the direction I did to help me avoid a potential negative situation I would have encountered had I gone the shortest, most efficient route? Can your inner self nudge you to take certain actions in the physical? Was this the case in this particular instance?

Thanks!
Steve

Dear Steve,

You attract whatever your vibration is sending. Your power is in the moment. You build momentum and the universe responds with the reality you interpret through your senses. As you find yourself living your life mostly in routine, you are constantly being guided by universal forces.

Every time you think a thought, that thought is a manifestation of your vibration. As thoughts come to you, they lead you in the direction of the fulfillment of whatever you are vibrating. You are led, step-by-step, through these thoughts and impulses to receive the outcome of your vibrational signal.

When you find yourself doing something out of the ordinary, it feels as if you have lost your own consciousness and something else has taken control. This is exactly what has happened. When you are in a state of allowing, as you were when this happened, you will be guided by universal forces so that you might rendezvous with the vibrational culmination of your present vibration. So, as you realized you were driving the wrong way on the freeway, you became aware and conscious to the fact that you had been brought here by some other force.

For you this was readily apparent because you do not make these kinds of mistakes. You know where you are going. You know what the timing should be. So when you find yourself doing something other than you know you should be doing, you must realize that this mistake is leading you in the direction of the rendezvous with your vibrational tone.

This is why we say you must focus on what's wanted and you must feel good. When you are focused on what's wanted, the purpose of these mistakes is to bring you to what you want. These apparent errors are impulses by the universe and your inner self that will lead you in the direction of whatever is your focus. If you're focused on what's wanted, you'll be taken in that direction. If you're focused on anything else, you'll be taken in that direction. When you feel good, you're more likely to hear the impulses and thoughts that resonate with what's wanted.

You attract thoughts and impulses and inspiration to act based on your current tone. If you're feeling good and focused on what's wanted, all of the thoughts and impulses will lead you in the direction you want to go. If you're angry and complaining then you will attract thoughts that agree vibrationally with what you're feeling in the moment. This is why you feel the urge to punch someone when you're angry. This is why you feel the urge to hug someone when you're in love.

So back to you driving the wrong way on the freeway. As soon as you woke up to the fact that you were heading in the direction that seemed wrong from your perspective, you felt negative emotion. This emotion let's you know that you're not viewing the situation from the higher perspective. If you can realize this and know that there is no wrong, you can look at the scene from the higher perspective and you can relax into a state of allowing. This is a very important point we are trying to make here. As you notice that you're doing something differently than normal, you must do whatever it takes to feel good and then you must observe. What is happening around you? Why have you been led to this path? What are you feeling?

If you can get yourself in an allowing mood of curiosity, you'll notice signs. You might actually see a billboard that will inspire a course of action. You might notice a song on the radio or people in the car next to you. You might drive down a new street and see something you need to see. You might get into a fender-bender with someone you're supposed to meet. Or you might be missing something you're meant to avoid. The point is you must realize that the event is happening for a reason and that the consequences of this event are far greater than being late or anything else. When you can come to know that there are no accidents or mistakes, that you're always on the path to the fulfillment of your vibrational signal, then all you need to be concerned with is your emotional state of being.

Feel good and the universe will respond to that feeling. Feel love, feel joy, feel happy, feel interested, feel exhilarated, feel passionate, feel confident and your thoughts and impulses will respond to that. Worry that you're running late and who knows, you might just take the wrong ramp on the freeway.

Joshua
