Steve Question #25

Dear Joshua,

All I can say is this has become quite a ride... I'm up and I'm down. However, as much as I try to see the "downs" as perfect and showing me a limiting belief, I'm not feeling equipped to identify the limiting beliefs behind it. Can you shed some light on this process?

Also, after feeling down, my desire is to return to a good feeling place which is surprisingly challenging! Any suggestions there?

Thanks!
Steve

Dear Steve,

When you ask general questions, we will provide general answers. When you ask more specific questions, we will provide more specific answers. We feel that you are asking us a very general question because you do not want to go into the details of what you perceive as wrong because doing so would simply add to the momentum of something unwanted. This is a very good idea, so let's talk more about momentum.

You have lived your life up to this point based on the momentum of your beliefs, attitudes, and understanding of your life and reality. Everything you do is seen through the perspective of your set of beliefs. Your life is progressing on a path based on your specific vibrational offering. That is momentum.

When you begin to change your beliefs, which have been altered by a new perspective on life, you begin to change the course of your life. Yet the momentum of your life continues to move you in the direction of your past set of beliefs. As this happens you feel pulled in two directions. This is quite normal.

You are actually changing quite rapidly, even if it does not appear that great change is occurring. You have always been open to the possibility that there is more to reality than you can see with your eyes and you are able to modify your beliefs much more easily than most, but now you are on a whole new level of awakening and so you think certain things should be happening at this new place. However, your old beliefs seem to be drawing you back into the same old problems and frustrations. You might be thinking, "Why is this still coming up for me? What haven't I moved past that yet?"

You are moving past that and you are creating from a new, more powerful stance, but your perception is that you haven't come as far as you think you should have by now. You have come far and you must compare yourself to who you were a year ago, five years ago, and ten years ago. When you look at who you were a decade ago and compare yourself to who you are now, it's much easier to see the progression. When you look at who will be at the end of this year compared to who you are now you will see that you have made great strides.

The first thing to understand is that you are progressing and you are moving forward at a great pace, even if it doesn't feel that way to you now. Your limiting beliefs are being confronted and you have the opportunity to analyze them or not. When you are ready you will see them and alter them so that they are diminished in their intensity. There is no rush, so just be patient with yourself. You do not have to identify and destroy every limiting belief.

You are starting to seek to feel good and when you don't feel good, it tends to feel much worse than it used to. You want to think your way out of the bad feeling, but the momentum won't allow it so you just have to ride it out. If you want to discover the limiting belief behind the feeling, you'll need to be present and remove your judgment from the situation. This is hard to do in the moment because of your lower emotional state of being. It might be easier to analyze it after some time has past and you have already returned to a more positive state of being. It is really only from the higher emotional state of being that you can consciously analyze a limiting belief anyway.

When you think that anything is wrong or bad and you feel negative emotion, it's because your perspective is from the narrow, limited point of view. Try to see the situation from another perspective. If that feels good, then you know you're on to something. If the new perspective feels bad, then it's still too limited. You can use this tool in any situation to find the better-feeling place. Remember, it's the feeling that is your guidance. If it feels bad, your getting colder, if it feels better, you're getting warmer. If it feels better, you're getting closer to the higher perspective, if it feels bad, your perspective is becoming even more limited and narrow.

Now, if you can provide us with a more specific situation that caused you to feel down, then we can help you identify the limiting belief about it. But remember, all limiting beliefs ultimately have to do with fear. All positive beliefs are based in love. When you encounter any negative emotion, that is a clue that you are afraid of something. The fear is most often irrational, so just think about what you're fearful of and why. Once you realize that there is nothing to fear, your limiting belief will automatically be diminished to some extent. So understand that the negative emotion is a sign of fear, that there is noting to be afraid of, and that the limiting belief is not necessary. As you decide you want to feel good, your vibration will create momentum and you will allow yourself to feel good more of the time.

You are doing wonderfully and we are extremely delighted to witness your growth.

Love,
Joshua
