Kate Question #82

Dear Joshua

I was listening to one of the round table broadcasts the group had done about work performance, and listening to Gary talk about Lili and her passion. I was also reading the chapter on our interests leading to our passions and when feeling good, we have the ability to let our inner being guide us. Do we all have passions when we come here or do a lot of us not really because we are here to discover other things?

Kate

Dear Kate,

You all came here to explore physical reality in some way. Everyone set intentions prior to being born. Most of the intentions were general in nature and one or more were more specific. Most people have some interest, talent, ability, or subject they would like to pursue further. Most people (the vast majority) are here to find their passions and delve deeper into those subjects.

Having said that, some are here to explore poverty, some are here to explore science or teaching, and some are here to explore other aspects of physical reality in a very specific way. But most people, including yourself, intended to find their passions in this life.

While you are here exploring your passions, you are also exploring other things such as the dynamics of relationships, the dynamics of feelings, the intricacies and nuances of perception, and many other such things. You also intended to do all of this and experience joy at the same time.

The key here is you intended to experience Joy, Expansion and Freedom all while doing everything else. Joy, Expansion and Freedom are inseparably tied to the experience of life. You might choose to suppress these aspects of reality, yet there is no need to. For instance, you could feel joy at a funeral if you allowed yourself to. You could feel joy in any situation if you looked at it from the higher perspective. We see what's going on in your world and from our perspective, we feel joy in all of it.

You cannot avoid expanding. You expand with every experience. You expand the size and scope of the universe with every experience in physical reality. Your expansion causes the entire universe to expand. When you reach for an idea that has never been thought before, you bring it from the nonphysical to the physical and as a result the universe expands. You came here to expand and all expansion is valuable and significant.

You are a freedom-loving being. You are here to be free, yet you imprison yourself in your own limited beliefs and fears. Your fears limit your freedom to experience life and so do your limiting beliefs. You have free will and you can choose which beliefs to keep and which ones to throw out. You have freedom of choice and without that, you could not create your own reality. Free yourself from your bonds of limiting beliefs.

As you choose to release your fears, you will gravitate toward that which interests you. When you understand that you are here to expand, you'll release your fear of failure. Now, when you find something you're interested in, you do not allow yourself to explore it very far because you cannot see where it will lead. You stop yourself before you even get started. You think it's silly or impossible or too far out of your reach. If it is interesting to you, it can be yours if you continue to pull at the thread of it.

The only way to find your passion is to follow interests. You do not have the ability to recognize your passion from where you now stand. If we were to tell you what it is (which we would never do) you would not believe us. It would sound preposterous. You are not yet a match to it and so you cannot recognize it. The only way to get from here to there is by taking steps. Your interests are those steps.

So don't be concerned that you have not found your passion yet. You do not know how to find your passion yet. You have released enough limiting beliefs yet. You haven't built up enough confidence yet. But when you do, you'll be led right to it.

Joshua
