Kate Question #45

Dear Joshua,

Concerning limiting beliefs (fears) - with the person standing in the middle of the sidewalk incident the fears could be:

I'm not as relaxed about life as I would like to be - judgmental and uptight (not as "pretty" or as "generous" as I would like to see myself as).

I'll react and then get into a fight at least verbal - and then I'm afraid of losing control.

That I'm going to have an uncomfortable moment and some time to get over it, which would spoil my day.

That I'm not confident enough to be able to do the same thing and be unaware or that I'm too aware of others to be able to really go with my own desires and the flow of my life...

Kate

Dear Kate,

These are all excellent examples of limiting beliefs. The fact that you can identify them and write them down is a sign of great progress. Now that you've identified the limiting beliefs and the fears that lie beneath them, can you find evidence to prove they are not true?

Write a statement about each limiting belief proving to yourself that the belief or the fear is false. Show evidence that the fear is false. Find examples in your life that show the fear to be false. Please write them down and send them to us as soon as you can.

With Love
Joshua
