Isabelle Question #27

Dear Joshua,

I think what you truly want is to focus on what you have and appreciate it. The universe, through the Law of Attraction will give you more of that. I guess what I need just a little more clarification on is when you focus on something you don't have in your reality. Like creating a vision board. Does that work because you are envisioning what you want so you will attract it? Especially, if you feel it like you have it? Is that tricking the universe? I think you can't trick the universe. Maybe you are tricking the subconscious mind instead? Can you go a little more into the subconscious mind?

With Love,
Isabelle

Dear Isabelle,

What is the subconscious mind? Do you have access to it? Can you control it? Can it create in your reality? Yes and no. You create your reality, consciously and subconsciously. You might do things subconsciously, such as breathe, operate your heart, liver, and kidneys, allow the cells of your body to function. Or you might subconsciously react to something in the same old judgmental way. Certainly, the operation of your body is primarily subconscious and that is a perfectly fine thing. You could not focus on everything that is going on all around you or you would find yourself paralyzed and unable to move forward. So the conscious mind is what you focus on with your physical senses and with your nonphysical senses.

Do you hear, small, taste, touch, and see everything that goes on in your reality? No, you only perceive a tiny fraction of it with your physical and nonphysical senses. You narrow your focus so that you can focus on certain tiny aspects of reality. When you walk from your car into the store, do you carefully plan out your steps or do you simply walk there? Do you notice how you are holding your body, your arms, the expression on your face, or anything else, or do you simply walk? Your subconscious controls all these things. When you drive home, do you sometimes forget how you got there or have you ever taken the routine route when you are going somewhere else and miss the turn? That's because your subconscious is doing the work for you. In most cases that is perfectly good and the system works well. However, when you simply think the same old thoughts and carry on with the same old perception of reality because your subconscious is handling that for you, then we would call that unconscious creation. Consciousness involves what you are focused on. You can create your reality subconsciously or consciously. That is up to you.

You create your reality through the focus of your attention. What are you focused on? Does it have your full conscious awareness or is it habit carried out subconsciously? The subconscious doesn't really create, it's the focus that creates. You are always focused on something, but that focus is really determined by how you feel and how you feel causes you to focus in a certain way. This is what creates momentum. If you are habitually subconsciously focused on what you do not like, what you think is wrong or bad, then you are creating subconsciously, but only if you know better. If you know better and still choose to allow yourself to be focused in a way that is not productive, effective, or empowering, then you are not being present. You are not being conscious. You allow your subconscious to maintain a state of being that is resistant. A conscious creator maintains a consistent focus on feeling good. By doing that, everything else takes care of itself.

You do not have to envision what you want. A vision board should be called a "focus board." All the vision board does is keep you focused on what you want. But since the vision board tends to be too specific, many people notice the lack of the things on that board and this dips them into a lower emotional state of being. When the desires are envisioned in a very specific way, the person either notices the lack of the things or uses motivation to make the things happen. Either way, this is limiting.

If your vision board consisted of things you already have that you appreciate, then it would cause you to focus in a way that allows you to feel good. The things you have that you appreciate can be your excuse to feel good or the things you do not have can be your excuse to feel bad. It all depends on your perspective and your belief about yourself and the laws of the universe. In our opinion, you do not need to be specific because all of your desires are contained within your vibration and they are all making their way into your reality. There might be a huge difference between what you think you want and what you truly want. If you remove your attachment from what you think you want and simply practice feeling good, then everything you truly want will find its way into you reality.

With our love,
We are Joshua
