Arnaud Question #43

Hi Joshua,

I mentioned in a previous question that my boss had suggested I apply for a position at the company she is moving to.

Initially the thought was exciting, and after doing a bit of research about this new organisation a few little fears came up. Nevertheless, I pushed past those fears and applied for the position.

I am intending to remain in step one and deal with the fears as they come up at every step. I could have found a few reasons to prevent me from applying, and decide to stay where I am, but I have absolutely nothing to lose, so I went for it. When I finally pressed the send button to submit my application, it felt good. I have zero attachment as to the outcome. I realise that I may change job, or I may not, and it's too early to envisage what's going to happen at this stage, but I felt good for actually moving forward and competing the application stage. This was last night.

It's funny, this morning I woke up to the news of the collapse of a big construction company in the U.K. A company a little similar to the one I have applied for (I even read an article at the weekend linking up the two). Of course, it brought up fears again. "Is this a sign that I shouldn't go ahead with this?" I asked myself. "Could the same fate happen to the new company I am applying for, leaving me stranded with no job?" But of course, only my perspective on this matters right? So I aimed to stay detached. I can even hear you say, "so what if it does? It will be happening for you and only your perspective will judge this as wrong" (I guess this is me processing the fear of losing a job).

I trust everything will be unfolding for my highest good, but can I actually control the outcome of this by prepaving thoughts, or avoiding certain mental traps?

With love,
Arnaud

Dear Arnaud,

The process of pre-paving by setting your intentions is the tool you use to make it easier to push past fear and do what you are inspired to do. It's not to make anything specific happen. Let's look at this in more detail.

You think you know what you want. Your inner self knows what you truly want. You do not consciously understand what it is that you truly want, but you are completely obsessed with what it is that you think you want. Therefore, you tend to do things to achieve certain goals that you believe will enable you to get what you think you want. All the time you are oblivious to what it is that you truly want. So instead of taking action when inspired, you look down the road to try and see if that action will lead to what you think you want. Most of the time you cannot see how the action will lead to what you think you want because you cannot se very far down the road and what you truly want is often different than what you think you want.

What you truly want are those things you intended prior to your birth. You truly want to express your love, not be loved yourself. Being loved does not matter. Expressing love is the only thing you really care about. You intended to experience joy, abundance, freedom, alignment, ease, allowing, and harmony. If you lived a life where you were having these experiences all day, every day, then what would be better than that? Nothing. You also wanted to explore some aspect of physical reality in a more specific way. This exploration will be found when you discover your passions in life. You passions are discovered by following your interests and feeling worthy of the exploration of those interests.

So now you might understand that you don't really know what you want, you only think you do. The things you want are really just experiences you believe will enable you to feel good. Of course, that's not really the way it works, is it? How you feel in response to whatever the conditions are is up to you. You get to choose how you feel. You might win the lottery and feel good for about a day. Then you might spend the rest of the time worrying about spending it, giving it away, investing it, and losing it. Worry does not feel good and you did not come here specifically to experience worry or any prolonged negative emotion.

What you want to do is feel good so that you can receive inspiration to act. The inspiration will always be a bit scary as well as exciting, interesting, or fun. Fear will always pop up. You might describe the fear as processing a rational decision. You might tally up the pros and cons. That's just your way of controlling the fear. You excuse will always be that you do not think that the action will lead you where you want to go and so you will succumb to your better judgment. But that is simply your excuse for succumbing to fear. If you can push past the fear, the excuses, the rationalizations, the decision making process, the pros and cons, and just move forward in faith, you will get everything you truly want.

Remember, everything you truly want is really, really good. You will like it, we promise. What if you didn't have to play it safe? What if you truly had nothing to lose? Then you could do anything, right? You could be anything. You could have anything. This world would be yours for the taking. If you live to a certain level, the universe will have to support you at that level. The only question you ever have to ask yourself, is how far can you really go given the amount of fear you can push through? Fear is the only limiting factor in your life. Without fear, your life would be limitless. Everyone experiences fear, yet some are able to push past it. Some push past fear without the understanding of universal laws and forces that you possess. You know more than almost anyone on the planet. Now it is time for you to take a chance and see if what you know is true. There's no limb you have to step out onto. All you have to do is take the action you are inspired to take and then take the next logical step in front of you.

With our love,
We are Joshua
