Arnaud Question #4

Dear Joshua,

I love movies and I once dreamt that I was at the premiere of a movie that I had written the script for and Ryan Gosling was the lead role. In my dream, we were best mates at the premiere. It was very vivid. I can still feel his arm around my shoulders as he is waving to a delirious crowd with his other hand.... perhaps this could be a vision I could shape into a reality, who knows?!

From a deliberate creator's perspective, I love the idea that I'm writing the script for the movie that is my life and starring in the lead role. I like this idea of improving my imagination to make the stories that I want to happen in my life exciting and thrilling. Now, let's say, since I am a magnificent limitless being of pure positive love, that I want my movie to be a superhero movie. Do I invent my superpower and create them? Or are my superpowers already predetermined and I need to discover them? And, if so, do you already know, from your vantage point, the super powers that I have?

With love and infinite gratitude,
Arnaud

Dear Arnaud,

If you were to open a comic book and read about a new superhero, that superhero would have certain powers and as the reader of the book, you could not change them. Now, if you loved the character and eventually became the writer of the comic book, would you change his superpowers or would you leave them as they are knowing that your superhero would not really benefit from someone else's powers? You are the writer of your story, but the interesting part of your story is in the unfolding of superpowers that are lying within the main character, yet are unknown to him.

Physical reality is an environment of self-discovery and exploration. You came here to explore certain aspects of physical life and you came equipped with everything you need. You are self-contained. Nothing you need to explore reality is left out of your toolkit. Therefore, you need no one else's superpowers to explore reality as you intended. In fact, if you had someone else's talents, you would go off in a direction that you had not intended. That would not be wrong, it just would not make sense within the story you are here to live.

Once you are here, you can choose to seek that which you came here to explore, ignore that which you came here to explore (usually out of fear), or explore something completely different. Your superpowers will aid you in anything you want as long as the desire is a true desire. If the desire is based in love, then your superpowers are perfectly suited to the manifestation and exploration of that desire. If your desire is based in fear, your superpowers will be useless.

For instance, if you have explored life in the way you intended and now you birth a desire to move in another directions, say writing a movie script, then your natural talents and abilities will serve you or not depending on the motivation behind that desire. If you think it would be a fun adventure and build on how magnificent you already see yourself, then your abilities are perfectly aligned with this desire. However, if you seek fame to make yourself feel better and more worthy, your abilities and talents will not help you.

Let's imagine you are a great writer and you enjoy the process of writing. You are both loving and hating writing at the same time as you deal with your limiting beliefs around writing and who you are. You find it incredibly challenging and also highly rewarding. You are intensely critical of your own writing, but sometimes you see it as magnificent. All of this is what you came here to explore. Your talents (in this fictional case), are perfectly suited to that exploration of self-worth. You have the intellect of a writer, the interest in movies and books, the ability to write and the passion for writing. However, because you view yourself in a limiting way, you are critical of your own ability to write and what you have already written. Your discovery is in the understanding of the magnificence of who you really are. When you come to see yourself in a more empowering way, your talents emerge. When you perceive yourself in a limiting way, your talents are hidden from you. Therefore, your path is one of self-discovery and allowing or limitation and resistance. Once you resolve your own self-imposed limitations, you abilities shine and you can go on to develop those talents in ways you could have never imagined possible.

You see, who you are now would not feel comfortable on the red carpet with a movie star. You would feel awkward, like you do not belong. Once you come to understand your magnificence, you begin to allow your talents to emerge. When you see your special and unique talents as perfectly suited to your unique exploration of reality, you begin to appreciate them and yourself. Your writing vastly improves and your criticism diminishes, which allows you to remain in the flow. The story writes itself. As you see yourself as a writer, you begin to feel more and more comfortable with the idea of finishing a script, submitting your script to contests or producers, and then actually working as a writer. Other people will recognize your talent only after you recognize it first. They are simply a reflection of you. By the time you are on the red carpet with Ryan Gosling, you are fully prepared for all of it and you feel right at home.

However, until you understand your magnificence, you will never get into the flow and your talents will not emerge. That is the catch-22 of physical reality. The world will never show you how great you are. You must show the world who you are before you receive the feedback.

With our love,
We are Joshua
