Arnaud Question #37

Hi Joshua,

Today is my first day of holiday! Hurray! I am thrilled at the prospect of relaxing, seeing my family and doing next to nothing but going with the flow... This morning when I woke up I felt pain in my lower back and the first thing I did as I got up was walk on the head of a nail that was slightly sticking out of a floorboard plank in my bathroom. It was not too bad, but still enough to draw a little blood, and cause pain and discomfort. The timing of this, when I have walked hundreds of times before into my bathroom, must mean something. What is this all about? Is it just a reflection of the marathon few weeks I've just had and the resistance I have accumulated during that period? Or is there an underlying message too?

With love,
Arnaud

Dear Arnaud,

Let's start by remembering that all unwanted physical conditions are resistance. In fact, it is a resistance to the physical condition itself, as well as whatever the underlying built up resistance might have been. It is a literal message to slow down, take it easy, and go with the flow. If you have a pain in the back, your movement is restricted. Instead of arguing against the pain, why not go with the flow of the condition in ease? Why not just take it easy and relax? If you have stepped on a nail, instead of thinking about how bizarre that is, why not take it as a message to slow down and take it easy? There is no reason to argue against the conditions that present themselves in your reality. Instead of wondering why this happened to you, wonder why it happened for you.

This is the great benefit of the new approach to life. Rather than condemning the conditions because you think you would be better off if the conditions were different, embrace the conditions as they are. If something happens for you, and you cannot easily see the benefit, you must endeavor to discover the message and the benefit. If you perceive that all things that happen in your reality are for you, then you can approach it with curiosity rather than disdain. Herein lies the true power of the new approach to life.

In seeing the nail in the floor as a problem, you become the victim. In seeing it as a message and as a benefit, you become the creator of your reality. It's that shift of perspective that allows you to perceive reality from an empowering and powerful place of a creator that leads to the creation of the life you prefer. If you succumb to fear in every little condition that you do not like, you remain a victim. It's a simple shift in perspective, but a radical one because the new approach literally leverages universal forces. There's infinite power in that. There's no power in the negative, fearful reaction to the conditions you do to like.

Why is the pain for me? It could be this, it could be that, or it might be something else. Why did I step on the nail? What was the reason for that? If it was for me, how? How universe, how was this for me? Is it a release of tension? Is it a way for me to slow down? Does it have some metaphysical significance? Is it even a problem? Must I even worry about it? If you can get to the place of curiosity, you can receive the benefit of messages contained within the conditions. If you can go inside and ask for guidance, you will be practicing a very beneficial skill. All the answers you need are contained within.

Nothing is wrong with living the old approach to life. It's just that it will never feel as good as the new approach. It will never allow you to easily and joyfully create the life you prefer. It is simply not an effective way to live life. It goes against the very nature of the universe. You are not a victim of fate, you are the creator of your own reality. You create through your awareness that everything is for you. Living by any other approach simply goes against the design of physical reality.

With our love,
We are Joshua
