Allyson Question #73

Dear Joshua,

I've read repeatedly in answers and in the books that while we have certain desires, we don't necessarily know what they are ... and that's OK.

So - is there
A) a way to 'know' our desires?
B) a need to know our desire(s)? (I'm guessing no - except that if we want to remove limiting beliefs around a desire, we gotta know the desire?)
C) if something comes into my reality - was it a desire first?

I must be knocking off beliefs and fears because things just keep popping up - good stuff. Not only am I driving a new car I didn't have to pay for, but now I'm off to Spain and France for 18 days with Rick and friends and I'm all packed and feeling ready and worthy and excited.

Did I have a desire for a new car? Sure. And I was appreciating the old one. I have to admit that I didn't know I was desiring a fancy one at no cost :o) And I had no idea that I had found a vibration and confidence/worthiness to have one appear in the driveway. Did I desire a trip to Europe? Not that I was aware of, but alas, here we go.

Your ever so grateful, traveling-fool friend,
Allyson

Dear Allyson,

There are two types of desires; those you think you want and those you truly want. The things you think you want have to do with trying to get the feeling of worthiness or of being special or of being loved through the outside conditions and other people. Since you are already worthy and good and loved, these desires are based in lack and fear. Since you are taken care of by a loving universe, any desire for security is based in fear. All desires based in fear or lack are false desires. You cannot create a reality you will like by constantly trying to control the conditions that exist outside you.

All of your true desires align fully with who you really are, how the universe actual works, and with love. Since you are good and worthy and loved, you do not need to create outside conditions in order to feel this. You feel the feelings of worthiness, love, and goodness on the inside and then your reality reflects that back to you. Feel something you want to feel and make sure it's aligned with love and then the universe will bring it to you. If you have a new car to drive then you must feel good, worthy, loved and abundant. The reality of physical reality is that it is just a feedback system. You get what you are feeling about yourself and the world around you. Feel confident and loved and you get things that match how you feel. You must be understanding who you really are to attract a new car and a nice vacation with friends.

No you do not need to know what your true desires are for them to unfold into your life. You don't need to know because in the knowing what you want you also notice the lack. In the knowing what you want you will try to make it happen. You do not want to make things happen. You want to allow things to happen. When you make it happen, you are showing that you have no faith in the universe to bring you the most elegant manifestation of what you truly want.

However, if you would like to know some of the things you truly desire, we will give you a glimpse. You want to experience joy. You want to express your love. You want to learn more about who you really are. You want to be a limitless being of love and acceptance while living in this reality. You want abundance and freedom and fun and excitement and exhilaration and cooperation and peace and romance and the physical experience. You also want to expand through experience. You want to explore reality in a new and unique way. In other words; you have everything you truly want and everything you truly want is unfolding as long as you remain in a place of alignment. Feeling good is how you allow everything you truly want to unfold into your life. You must be feeling pretty good.

With our love,
We are Joshua
