Allyson Question #51

Dear Joshua,

Are you familiar with the Toltec spiritual governing points:

1. Be Impeccable with your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don't Take Anything Personally: Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don't Make Assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best: Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret. I've read much on this in the past. Today, when I opened my bookcase, I saw the books and it reminded me of these points and when I glanced at it - it seems that they are spot on - just different words - than your teachings. They discuss so much of the same issues and things we humans need to be/do/believe/etc to be sincerely joyful, succesful, etc.

So ... I guess it brings up the question: With all the Self-Help books and programs out there - I've given up on most of them as I'm finding your guidance fits for me but ... If these are really the same concepts ... Where or how does applying these specific practices play in our physical reality where we are now trying a new approach to life and practice more authenticity.

Thank you, Joshua & Gary,
Allyson

Dear Allyson,

What an excellent question! We will answer it in a way that is perfectly compatible with universal laws and the system of physical reality.

First of all, we would never tell you what to do, only how to perceive your life and your world in a way that aligns with the laws of the universe. We will give you guidance that will help you create the life experience you desire most. We will relay our perspective, because if you can see life from a higher and broader perspective, you will encounter less fear and doubt.

Be impeccable with your word. We would say this is an excellent idea. Say not what you mean, but say what you want. Your words are powerful tools of creation, just as your thoughts are. Maintain your words, either spoken or written, so that they perfectly match all that you want. Do not speak or write anything that relates to something unwanted. That is simply evidence of a lack of focus. If you want something to enter your reality, talk about it. If you do not want it to enter your reality, then leave it alone. Leave it for someone else, but do not speak of it yourself.

Don't take anything personally; take it vibrationally. It is true that everyone has their own unique perspective and no one really knows you. Anything that they may say to you isn't really personal because it comes from their unique perspective. However, if it comes to you, then it is for you and there's nothing more personal than that. It doesn't mean anything more than a representation of what you are vibrating. If you are vibrating insecurity, then you might receive a message from someone indicating how you are feeling. That is a good thing, not a bad thing. It's feedback from the system of reality and you very much want to receive that kind of feedback. It let's you know what's contained in your vibration. If you want something different, simply perceive yourself differently and your reality will change to reflect your new vibration.

Don't make assumptions (that aren't empowering). When you assume that someone doesn't like you or is thinking something negative about you, you are making it all up. You can't possibly know what is going on in their head and it wouldn't matter anyway. What they think about you quite literally has nothing to do with you. If they like you, it's because you cause them no fear. If they don't like you, it's because they perceive something about you in a fear-based way. You have little control over any of that. Instead, make the assumption that either they actually do like you or that they simply do not know you. It's very good to make assumptions as long as those assumptions are empowering. It makes absolutely no difference whether you ask questions or not because the answers can only reflect the vibration you are offering. When you make empowering assumptions, you create an empowering vibration.

Always do your best as long as the action you are taking is inspired. Never do anything you are not inspired to do. If you choose to do something, lean into it. If you think you should do something, think again. There's nothing you should do only that which you are inspired to do. Now, we will say that fear will always pop up whenever you feel the inspiration to do something. The fear will cause you to find reasons not to do something. Fear is very good at generating excuses why you should not act in the moment. However, you must recognize that the fear will keep you from acting on your inspiration and it may even cause you to believe that it isn't inspiration after all. Get over this by making a commitment to push past fear and simply do what you're inspired to do. If you can get very good at that, everything you want will unfold effortlessly into your reality.

With our love,
We are Joshua
